Alice & Baião de Zumbi

Two compositions. The first, "Alice" is dedicated to Alice Coltrane, the great pianist and harpist.Is a little theme based on F7M and Em7(9) chords to develop an improvisation in the Alice's style.The second, "Baião de zumbi", is a "baião", an imortant brazillian rhythm.Zumbi, is a legendary figure. He was the "Palmares" leader.Palmares was a free state"quilombo" founded in the 17th century by runaway slaves.Today in Brazil, the Zumbi's day (november 20th) is the national black counciousness day.To me, Zumbi means the freedom. His legend inspire me, on my everyday´s fight to create "free" music.
